Autumn Portrait Shoot in St. Stephen’s Green Park
It’s officially winter now and soon there won’t be a leaf left on the trees. So before winter takes over, let me reminisce about autumn and share a few images from an autumnal portrait shoot in Dublin’s St. Stephen’s Green Park two weeks ago.
It was an absolute pleasure to work with Deirdre who is an Andrea Roche model and was looking to expand her modeling portfolio with a few autumnal portraits. Conscious of the fact that it’s only a matter of days until the trees are completely bare, I knew it was our last chance to use the beautiful colours of autumn as a backdrop to a portrait session. A few days prior to the shoot, I did a quick run around a couple of Dublin’s parks to see which would be more suitable for an autumnal theme. As the trees in St. Stephen’s Green Park still had some foliage left it was a clear winner in ‘colour’ stakes and was picked as a setting for our shoot.
Because St. Stephen’s Green is Dublin’s busiest park, we had to start early before it got filled with life. It was a dry and beautiful morning: the air so fresh and the wind barely there. As Deirdre is well familiar with the modeling/photography industry, it was a great opportunity to share our experiences and exchange interesting stories from the trade during the session.
Both Deirdre and I had a few ideas we wanted to try during the shoot so it was a creative collaboration. I’m delighted to share a few of my favourite images from the day here.
