Blue Hour and Dublin at Night
Cityscapes tend to look stunning at night, especially during twilight, which is also known as the ‘blue hour’. If you’ve read by blog in the past, you may recall me sharing many ‘blue hour’ images from Dublin and Vilnius (my hometown) previously. Although I tend to primarily focus on portraiture work on this blog, I also adore twilight photography and intend to go back to doing more night-time landscapes soon. It’s a wonderful way to spend an evening and appreciate the beauty of the city we live in.
Below are a few recent images taken in the vicinity of the Grand Canal in Dublin during sunset and the ‘blue hour’. The first two were taken during an outing organised by the Offshoot Photography Society (I’m a recent member) last month during full moon. The last image (of the Famine Memorial) was taken back in February 2016 during a stroll along the banks of the Liffey.
