Hidden Gem – Dublin Castle
I must have walked up and down Dame Street thousands of times, but I’ve only recently discovered a hidden gem located just off it, i.e. Dublin Castle. What a beautiful spot it is and how could I possibly have walked by oblivious to it so many times!
Fortunately, I did eventually stumble across Dublin Castle while out walking one day last month. I was really taken aback not only by the castle itself but also by the characteristic cobbled lanes which lead up to it. Going back there with my camera was a must and I didn’t have to wait long as Idianara liked the idea of doing a Christmas shoot there. A photo-walk through the most famous – or infamous – castle in Irish history that was the site of British rule in Ireland for 800 years – what better way to spend an afternoon?
It was an absolute pleasure to work with the beautiful Idianara, whose warm personality kept any winter chill at bay. Idianara certainly turned many heads during our stroll around the Castle, with one gentleman even asking to be in a photo with her. Idianara is also a talented make-up artist so it’s possible I will be seeking her professional assistance for future projects.
Below are a few of the photos from our photo session. I would be delighted to hear your views. And as always, don’t be shy and drop me a line if you think you may be interested in a shoot.
