Lakeside Photo Shoot in Water
My website has just been launched and it’s time for my first blog post! In the midst of the Indian summer outside the window, the memories of the sunshine are still fresh. So before autumn takes over, it’s appropriate to share a few images from the summer.
I’d been playing with the idea of doing a shoot in the water for months and was delighted when Lina was enthusiastic about doing this shoot also. I knew that it was going to be a challenge as both myself and the model would need to be in the water throughout the shoot. And although the shoot was wet and cold, the location was invigorating which made the session a lot of fun!
With the place scoped out days in advance, we opted for an early morning start to avoid an audience and to ensure the best light. We did get the best light… as well as an audience of 4 pleasantly bemused fishermen. A photographer standing on a step ladder in her bathing suit in the middle of a lake and a beautiful model lying in the water in her dress – perhaps was not the type of catch the fishermen were hoping for! We lasted a good hour in the water, after which point the shivering was too hard to control and we waddled to shore. Cold, wet and happy. It was a good day.
