My ‘Portrait of a Dancer‘ project continues and this week’s installment (which I jokingly called ‘Dancer’s Commute’) is with the beautiful Katie. A charming young lady, a former gymnast and a very versatile dancer too, needless to say Katie was a delight to work with. Inspired by the work of Little Shao (a world renowned photographer of dancers), I’ve decided to try a somewhat unusual location for our photo shoot – a Dublin Bus.
Courtesy of Dublin Bus, the shoot was made possibility and what great fun it was too! An interesting location certainly makes for an interesting shoot. Both Katie and I use the bus daily, but our usual commute is a little different from the way we used the bus that day.
The original plan was to take a few photos inside a bus and follow that up with an urban photo shoot outside. Despite the fact that it started raining when we were leaving the bus, we weren’t going to let it dampen our spirits. Our hair did get wet, but the shots we took were absolutely worth it.
Below are a few of my favourite images from the day. Please do let me know what you think.
P.S. Huge thanks to Dublin Bus for the courtesy extended to us on the day and for being so accommodating. Also, big thanks to Emma Farrell Creative Studios (and their talented make-up artist Kayla) who created Katie’s flawless make-up on the day. The studio is a real find!
