Urban photo shoot in Temple Bar
A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of working with a very beautiful young model Aoife on an urban photo shoot in Temple Bar in Dublin. Due to unforeseen circumstances, it had to be a very quick shoot and I was a little apprehensive about managing to do it well in under an hour. But challenge is a good thing.
My job as a portraitist is for the photos to be a true reflection of my subject’s personality. With this in mind, I thought that Aoife’s vibrant style would be well matched by equally vibrant Temple Bar, which is where the shoot took place. My intention was to use the colours of the background to compliment Aoife’s personality. With location scoped our a few days prior to the shoot, I knew exactly which spots we were going to use. And as this turned out to be an express shoot, it proved critical to its success.
It was a delight to work with Aoife who has a bold sense of fashion and whose personal style is so very expressive. What she chose to wear on the day could not have suited our setting any better. I’ll let the photos speak for themselves.
As an aside, my partner has pointed out that I tend to come back from shoots a little bit in love with my subjects. Well, perhaps he is right. I’ll let you see why 🙂
P.S. There’s something really appealing about urban photography. It’s fast-paced, it can be dramatic and it’s not without spectators! I will be doing a series of urban photo shoots in the coming months, so please drop me a line if you’d like to book a session and create something beautiful together.
